Practical Advice
Faux Fur in most cases can be gently handwashed in cold water, adding a small amount of very mild detergent such as Wool Mix. It is very important to test wash a small amount of the same fabric to confirm suitability, but it will in most cases give an excellent result.
The wet Faux Fur should be line hung, pile out in a shady spot to air dry naturally and then brushed when damp to restore the pile. Avoid tumble drying as it can in some cases distort the pile.
It also helps to vigorously shake the Faux Fur regularly to remove dust and separate the fibres as well as elevating the look and feel.
If the Faux Fur is spot stained it can usually be cleaned with a damp cloth or for more difficult stains a carpet cleaning foam can often be used, but please closely follow the how to use instructions.
